From industrial hub to a forge of progress
The story of Q200 Censer begins right here, with the closure of the plant in 1978, and the start of a new phase.
The 1990s
With the refinery decommissioned, the area went through a period of transformation until 1991, when the regeneration project came to life: Centro Servizi S.p.A. is founded, founded by five local institutions: the Municipality, the Province and the Chamber of Commerce of Rovigo, Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, and Veneto Sviluppo S.p.A.
The goal was clear: to give the area a new soul, dedicated to knowledge, culture and innovation.
From 1994, also thanks to European Funds, an ambitious redevelopment plan took shape under the guidance of the architect Guido Pietropoli.
The 2000s
The major redevelopment project, launched in 1994 and completed in 2007, gave new life to a place that is a symbol of the city: a multifunctional campus with exhibition spaces, offices, services and areas dedicated to university education.
The 2000s opened a new chapter: with the birth of the RovigoFiere Division, Cen.Ser became an engine of economic development for the area, in collaboration with Padova Fiere to promote local events and businesses.
Today: Q200 Censer
From 2021, thanks to the involvement of Fondazione Cariparo, a new vision took shape: the old production engine became a generator of innovation.
Today Q200 Censer is more than a campus: it is a place where past and future speak to one another, where ideas take shape, where knowledge becomes growth, projects and vision for the area.
Q200: Q for Quartiere (district), 200 for the 200 thousand m² that make it up.
